Redfish, flounder, and spotted seatrout are the top three species for the First Coast today. The strong tide swing of 5.1 feet is pushing bait through the jetties and inlets, which is exactly what these fish want. Redfish and seatrout are open for harvest, but flounder harvest is closed statewide, so any flounder you catch must go back.
The best solunar window is the major period from 2:31 PM to 4:31 PM, which lines up well with the afternoon high tide at 1:41 PM. Mayport Jetties, St. Augustine Inlet, and Matanzas Inlet should all be productive with this moving water. King and Spanish mackerel are also scoring high if you want to head offshore.
